3 Year Olds
The Three Year Old Program is designed to develop social, emotional, physical
and intellectual skills. This is all provided in a fun, developmentally rich and
nurturing learning environment. Special events during this program include
visits from our local community helpers, cultural storytellers and singers.
4 Year Olds
The Four Year Old Program emphasizes language development, time and space, letter recognition and letter sounds. Our four year olds participate in many field trips in our community. Our goal is to provide each child with the necessary skills to make a smooth transition into kindergarten.
Pre-K
The Pre K Program gives each child an extra year of growth. This school readiness program expands upon phonological awareness, math, writing, dramatic play, physical activity and arts and crafts. The Pre K Program focuses on the development of social and emotional skills and children participate in many hands on field trips.
The K Club
The K Club is a kindergarten enrichment program that supplements a child's kindergarten experience. Fun activities in language arts, math, science and social studies will be included as well as music, movement and outside play.
Extended-Day
Extended Day Programs are offered for 3's and 4's from 9:15a.m.-2:00p.m. Children bring a lunch to eat during this program. (Please note we are an "Allergy Aware" school).
Before School Care new for 2009-2010 school year!
Before School Care for SWS children enrolled in our AM or extended day sessions will be available M-F from 8:30AM -9:15AM. For an additional fee your child can start their day at SWS at 8:30AM. Please call the SWS office for more information (203) 925-1076.
Toddler Time new for 2009-2010 school year!
Toddler Time is a child and adult interactive music and movement program which will be offered every Wednesday from 11:30AM-12:15PM. It is available for children 18 months-3 years old. A Toddler "Hot Topic" will be discussed weekly offering an informative, fun time with your toddler. Each session will run for 4 weeks. Please call the SWS office for more information (203) 925-1076.
Summer 2009

The Lunch Bunch program is offered Monday-Friday from 11:45am-1:15pm. Students in the AM sessions are welcome to stay and bring a "cold" lunch and enjoy an extra 90 minutes at school!
Field Trips
The 4's and PreK students take many field trips into our community. These trips enhance our curriculum and the children learn that they are connected to a larger world. These interactions teach values, health, safety, wellness, family, citizenship and history. Safe transportation is provided by parents.

Snack
Our daily snack menu consists of produce from our local farms, offering a new "in-season" fruit or vegetable each month. *Please note we are an "Allergy Aware" school. No peanuts, nuts or tree nuts are allowed.
